In April of 2015 I traded my gym membership for a makerspace membership. I had been interested in Ithaca’s relatively new Ithaca Generator for a few years and even backed the IndieGogo campaign to get a laser cutter. By October of 2015 I was a member on the board of directors. During my time in the basement (literally, it is located underneath the Ithaca Journal offices) I fixed up the logo, designed and developed a new website, made some flyers, and laser cut tons of wood and plastic. It’s been a blast.

I designed the bird feeder to be cut from a single piece of wood, with almost no need for glue/any other materials.
