The Last Colony

The opening theme for a timely documentary on Puerto Rico’s relationship with the US.

My friend Juan is an amazing human being, and he happens to make important documentaries (and has collected a few Emmys). I was humbled and honored when he asked me to compose a song for his latest film about the relationship between the US and Puerto Rico (literally, the last colony in the world).

I originally created the song to be used in the trailer, only, but it somehow found its way into the first five minutes of the film! I’ve visited Puerto Rico twice and have found it to be an incredible place that I hope to return to again and again. Juan has also been a fan and user of my fonts, so I was also surprised to use that he designed the materials for the film with Ostrich Sans. Check out the DVD, out now, or rent it online for 99 cents! Go Puerto Rico(and go there)!
