In October of 2018 I took my type design game up a few notches by launching a dedicated foundry site. This was challenging for more than a few reasons, but aside from designing and creating the typefaces I'd be offering via ETC, I needed a name, logo, and website (among other things). Oh, and a had, I needed a hat. Plus a Twitter/Insta account, duh.
It was an exercise in patience, among other things. Type design often feels like distance running, rather than sprints. So to build it all from scratch, alone, was a fulfilling but difficult process. I'm excited about the future though, between variable fonts and simply larger families in general, I think ETC is going to be a great thing.
